The following memo to the York community has been issued on behalf of the Presidential Search Committee of York University by committee Chair Marshall Cohen. <\/EM><\/P>

Now that the Fall term has begun, I want to bring you up to date on the progress of the Presidential Search. <\/P>
\n

As you will recall, the position profile was settled and advertisements placed in late spring. Over the summer, and on an ongoing basis, our search consultants have been actively recruiting potential candidates and receiving and responding to applications, suggestions and nominations. Through the next few months, in accordance with our planned schedule, the committee will be meeting for preliminary review and comment on the pool of candidates and we are confident of a timely and successful result. <\/P>

Through the Presidential Search<\/FONT><\/A> Web site the committee will continue to keep the York University community informed of the progress of the search as it moves forward.<\/P>
