Gathered around a small, smoky fire inside the newest addition to the York landscape, members of the University’s indigenous community and administration officially unveiled the York Tipi. Shawn Brixey

Distinguished digital arts and experimental media scholar is appointed as the new dean for the Faculty of Fine Arts

Shawn Brixey joins York University as the newly appointed dean for the Faculty of Fine Arts. Brixey will come to York from the University of Washington, where he is an associate professor of digital arts and experimental media in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Q&A: Emmanuel Mbulu (BA ’77, BA Hons. ’80): From struggling student to philanthropic chief

In 2006, remembering his struggle as an international student, Mbulu established the Chief Emmanuel Mbulu Award to help York students of Nigerian heritage in financial need. Last year, he renewed his initial donation of $12,500 to support the bursary. » More
