Brief Bio: Professor David Doorey

David Doorey (B.A., LL.B, M.I.R., LL.M, Ph.D) is a Professor of labour and employment law in the School of Human Resource Management at Toronto’s York University.  He was called to the Bars of Ontario and British Columbia in 1997, and practiced labour and human rights law in both provinces, first in a labour law firm and then as Canadian legal counsel to the United Steelworkers of America, before returning to academia. His  publications in labour and employment law and regulatory theory have been published in leading law journals, and his award-winning blog on labour and employment law (Doorey’s Workplace Law Blog) is widely read.  Professor Doorey is a frequent media commentator on labour law and industrial relations issues.
