2003 Child & Youth Violence Research Group, York University:  seed grant, $5000 to study youth experience under the Toronto Outreach Out-tripping Program, placing youth at risk into an outdoor recreation activity with police and Parks experts.

1977 Canada Council Scholarship:  $7000 for research with original manuscripts held by Queens College and Balliol College, Oxford, and Trinity College, Cambridge on  medieval miscellanies; examining documentary evidence of literacy in the laity and resulting different social class educations.

1976 Ontario Graduate Student Award:  $3000 for research on medieval instruction books for raising upper-class boys reinforcing traditional chivalric training.
