QUALITATIVE RESEARCH

Qualitative research studies is an process that investigates purpose and meaning of the study. Instead of using statistical, scientific proceedures to draw conclusions, it involves the interpreting of experiences to provide an explanation and understanding about the subject being investigated.

In terms of feminist studies, there are three common styles utilized for this type of research:

1. In-depth Interviewing:

Unstructured converstations used for gathering data

2. Confidentiality:

Conversational rapport between researchers and participants: creating an atmosphere of trust and comfort.
3. Group interviews:

Enabling women in groups to exchange experience, build on each other's ideas and enhance awareness in their situation(s).
