Plenary Session: Student Demographics in Ontario: What it means for all of us
Robert J. Tiffin, Vice-President Students, York University
more...
The current demographic projections and trends in Ontario, and Canada, will have a significant
impact on the shape of post-secondary education. The population density in large urban centres,
coupled with a decline in population growth and changes in the age profiles of those outside of
large urban centres, will create a ripple effect that will felt throughout the Ontario postsecondary
system and have broad influence on student choice and support. Rob Tiffin, Vice-
President Student at York will examine the factors driving these changes and examine possible
scenarios for postsecondary education here in Ontario.
