Important Hotel Room Update! Please Read this First!

We've had a huge increase in the number of registrations this year. As of Aug 22, the NV Marriott is reporting that the block booked rooms with the special rate ($189) are sold out on most days of the conference. It's possible that you may still get a room at the special rate due to cancellations and such, so please try the special PassKey online hotel reservation site first

If there are no rooms online, please try calling the NV Marriott directly (+1-707-253-8600) for rooms at the current rack rate. Do mention that you're attending the ACM CIKM conference

Please check the following hotel (Hilton Garden Inn) first if the Marriott doesn't work out. This hotel is right next to the Marriott (5 mins walk) and the rates as of Aug 25 were 189 per night:

For attendees arriving on Saturday Oct 25 an option may be to stay near the airport or in San Francisco downtown (several hotels can be found using hotels.com for around $100 per night) and arrive at the conference venue on Sunday morning. To accommodate such arrivals the Tutorials will start at 11am on Sunday Oct 26th.

October is peak season in Napa. That combined with several other major events will lead to a a high hotel occupancy rate. To ensure that your accommodation is secured, we strongly encourage you to complete your reservation as early as possible

Hotel Room Booking

We have blocked 150 rooms at the Napa Valley Marriott during the conference dates at the rate of USD 189 per single/double room plus taxes. The hotel guarantees that these are the lowest rates on those dates. The hotel accepts cash and most major credit cards. Check-in time is 4PM and check-out is at 12PM. Earlier check-in is possible on request.

Napa Valley Marriott has created a custom registration website for CIKM 2008 that allows you to search and book rooms at special conference rates of USD 189 (select "Attendee" for the "Who are you?" field. You do not need to provide an access code.) Note that the sharing of rooms is allowed. The block booking of rooms will be available until August 26, 2008; after this date there are no guarantees that these rooms or rates will be available. In addition, October is peak season in Napa Valley, so it is highly encouraged that you book early.
