Evaluation and Grading
Project grades will be based on the Instructor’s subjective evaluation of conceptual development; evidence of independent thought and aesthetic awareness; evidence of effort and commitment; technical competence and other criteria specific for a project. Late Projects will receive one letter grade deduction per week overdue to a maximum of 2 weeks. Late projects will NOT be accepted after two weeks past deadline.

Attendance & Participation
You will be given the course schedules, so please note the dates of demos well in advance. No demos will be repeated.

Participation grade is based on your willing contributions to class discussions, critiques demos and overall contribution to the class environment. Attendance is recorded and will also contribute to your overall grade. Be a willing and enthusiastic participant in discussions and critiques!! 

The grading scheme for the course conforms to the 9-point grading system used in undergraduate programs at York (e.g., A+ = 9, A = 8, B+ - 7, C+ = 5, etc.).  Assignments and tests* will bear either a letter grade designation or a corresponding number grade (e.g.  A+ = 90 to 100, A = 80 to 90, B+ = 75 to 79, etc.)   For a full description of York grading system see the York University Undergraduate Calendar - http://calendars.registrar.yorku.ca/pdfs/ug2004cal/calug04_5_acadinfo.pdf)

Please note that all grades are converted to a final letter grade. Final course grades may be adjusted to conform to Program or Faculty grades distribution profiles.

Last date to drop courses without receiving a grade is November 12, 2010.

Students may take a limited number of courses for degree credit on an ungraded (pass/fail) basis.
