VUE SCAN

Vue Scan stand-alone application can be found either in the dock or in the Applications-Vue Scan.

Do not work in the guide me method you need to be able to control the settings.

Because this is a shared workstation, it is important to check all settings before starting. Use the following to determine your default starting points.

1. Check all settings

2. Place objects on acetate on scanner’s flatbed

3. Click ‘Preview’ in the bottom left corner

4. INPUT
-Scan resolution at 1200 dpi
-Choose a media size that closest matches your output dimensions

5. CROP
-Choose the same dimensions media size as the crop size
-If you want to crop: Pull a corner of the marquee (which will be the whole scanner bed) and resize it around where you want to scale

6. COLOUR
-Black point and white point adjust contrast
-Brightness controls overall brightness whereas brightness red/green/blue control individual channels

7. Under OUTPUT
-Change print size to the same crop dimensions
-Checkmark OTIFO file format
-Create file name
-Default folder: it is where the file will be stored; change it to your external drive/ desktop

8. Check the HISTOGRAM
-Along the top of the scan dialogue box, next to previews is the histogram tab
-Arrows can be moved to alter image
