SC/CHEM 4300 3.0 selected topics in chemistry:

Biomaterials chemistry

The course serves as an introduction of materials used for biomedical applications to students with background in chemistry, physics and biology. It covers a range of natural and synthetic biomaterials, general aspects of their structure, properties, behavior in contact with biological systems, and selected applications. Emphasis is on biophysical chemistry of surfaces and interfaces, and mechanisms involved with molecular self-assembly.
