In response to the rise in e-book usage at the library, we recently created a new guide on finding law e-books to make it easier to navigate and access them.

In the guide you will find the major e-book platforms, such as Brill, Elgar Online, and ProView, where you can browse and search for law e-books. It also outlines some of the platform features, any access restrictions, and how to find e-books through the Omni library catalogue. 

As you may have already discovered, there are several advantages to using e-books, including remote 24/7 access, full-text searching, highlighting, magnification, annotating, and much more. 

Please note, however, that not all print books have an e-book version and the number of concurrent users may differ from publisher to publisher. The access restriction box under each platform tab has more information.

If you are looking for non-law e-books, the York University Libraries’ E-Book Guide is a good place to start as it lists the main multidisciplinary e-book platforms along with some troubleshooting tips.
