CNIB Lake Joseph Centre is a 12 acre recreational facility for people of all ages who are blind or partially sighted. Our facilities provide outdoor recreational opportunities (canoeing, sailing, waterskiing, campfires) in a safe, inclusive and accessible environment.
Recruiting For: We are looking for volunteers from all backgrounds, skills and interests. Our volunteers help out in every aspect of the program from being a tandem bike partner, outdoor cooking, fitting life jackets, to facilitating music and arts programs. Volunteers may either stay with us for a week (with meals and accommodations included) or drop-in on a weekly, bi-weekly schedule.
Skills: Interest in sports and traditional camp activities (canoeing, sailing, waterskiing, wakeboarding, kayaking, swimming) and arts and crafts, music, outdoor cooking, general outdoor activities. We are looking for people with great communication, interpersonal, and social skills. Volunteers must be respectable, compassionate and patient.
