- Bernard Lightman has received a National Science Foundation grant to transform the Tyndall Correspondence Project into an international collaborative correspondence project.
- Jody Berland has been awarded the 2008 Association for Canadian Studies Award of Merit which is "given annually to a person, group, or organization who has continuously and significantly contributed to the development and/or dissemination of knowledge about Canada."
- This award is sponsored by the Royal Bank of Canada Charitable Foundation. It will be awarded at the ACS conference in Moncton on Novemvber 7.
