MORE INFORMATION

RESEARCHERS

Information for the REGISTRY can only be gathered by visiting each site individually, filling out the forms, and photographing the windows. It is not necessary to spend time in archival research in order to obtain the data needed for the REGISTRY. In the past when funding was available, art history graduate students at York University have been employed for this undertaking. The REGISTRY now relies more heavily on the cooperation and generosity of volunteer participants. A limited number of sets of sample forms will be sent to volunteer researchers, with the expectation that these would be themselves copied, as and when needed, by these individuals. Likewise, the costs of the production of slides will have to be borne by the individual researchers until such time as future grants might make it possible to reimburse people for this expense. The name of the researcher who gathered the data and forwarded it to the databank will always be acknowledged. Interested people are encouraged to volunteer to document as few or as many new building sites as they have time for. Training sessions will be organized for groups such as Historical Society volunteers who might wish to become involved with documenting windows in their area. Interested parties should contact the Director at the address below.
