Career Exploration

The Career Exploration Program is designed to help students explore academic choices and future careers. If you are thinking about graduate school or professional schools (such as medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, psychotherapy, etc..), or considering pursuing a working career path in Canada or internationally, then this program is ideal for you.

Career Conversation

Meet Alumni, Fellows, Faculty and Graduate Students to discuss pathways to success, careers, job shadowing, volunteering, mentoring, apprenticeship & internship opportunities and more!

Students will have the opportunity to connect with Faculty of Health graduates, professors, and professionals in various fields. 

A variety of occupations and careers will be represented at the event for example: Nursing, Founder of a charitable community organization, General Manager, Board member for a biopharmaceutical company, Advancement Coach & Strategist and Founder (2015) of Apply Yourself: The Advancement Spot Inc, Business Strategy and Human Capital expert, Master’s student in Health Evaluation at the University of Waterloo

PLEASE NOTE: While we make every effort to include a wide variety of occupations and careers, we cannot guarantee that specific professions will be present at the event, as some participants may be unavailable due to last minute scheduling issues.

Careers Matter

At the Careers Matter event, students can meet Alumni, Fellows, Professors and Graduate Students to discuss pathways to success, careers, job shadowing, volunteering, mentoring, apprenticeship & internship opportunities and more! The event offers students the opportunity to connect one-on-one with Faculty of Health graduates, professors, and field professionals. Structured as a drop-in event, a variety of occupations and careers will be represented at the event. Students are invited to join anytime that works for them, stay and chat with a field professional, and are not expected to stay for the entire duration of the event.

Careers Matter will return in Fall 2022.

Meet Alumni, Fellows, Professors and Graduate Students to discuss pathways to success, careers, job shadowing, volunteering, mentoring, apprenticeship & internship opportunities and more! 

Students will have the opportunity to connect one-on-one with Faculty of Health graduates, professors, and field professionals. Students are invited to drop in anytime between 3 pm - 5 pm and are not expected to stay for the entire duration of the event. 

A variety of occupations and careers will be represented at the event. They include some (not all) of the following: 

Registered Kinesiologist, Public Health, Nursing, Speech Pathology, Strategy Lead - Management Consultant, Assistant Professor - Durham College, Assistant Professor Teaching - Nursing, 1st year Medical Student @ U of T, PAHO Junior Researcher, Associate Professor of Health Informatics, Registered Nurse - Education, Critical Care and Public Health, Assistant Professor - Speech Language Pathology, Legislative Assistant, Health Policy Researcher, Pharmaceutical Review Officer, Registered Nurse, Program Analyst, Assistant Professor - Kinesiology, Registered Psychotherapist - Owner of a Psychotherapy practice, Women's Community Development Coordinator. 

PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee that specific professions will be present at the event, as some participants may withdraw themselves at the last minute due to emergency.

Career Spotlight

Career Spotlight is an opportunity for students to connect with Faculty of Health alumni, learn about their careers and experiences, ask them questions, receive their guidance and wisdom, and inquire about volunteering or shadowing opportunities. Weekly Zoom meetings feature different alumni from various career paths who share their experiences and answer students' questions.
