
Peter Macdonald, Program Director
The Program Director of the Hennick JD/MBA program is Peter Macdonald, a lawyer, mediator and Adjunct Professor of Strategic Management/Policy at the Schulich School of Business. Peter supports students through every step of their JD/MBA journey, from admissions through graduation and preparing for a future career. “The Hennick JD/MBA program is designed to create leaders who will enjoy considerable competitive advantages,” he says. “Prospective employers, both domestically and internationally, regard this program very highly and go to great efforts to attract our students.”
After graduating from Osgoode in 1985, Peter was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1987 and for the next seven years practised corporate/commercial and securities law with two Toronto law firms, as well as a multinational corporation based in Montreal. Since 1995, he has acted as an independent commercial mediator and professional dispute resolution trainer in a range of litigation, regulatory and business-related contexts. He has taught business law to undergraduate and graduate students at Schulich since 2001 and has been honoured with many teaching excellence awards.
Bridget Bilski, Assistant Director
The Assistant Director of the Hennick JD/MBA, is a lawyer and former litigator with a experience in firm management and legal recruitment. She oversees strategic planning and all day-to-day operations of the Hennick JD/MBA program, with a particular focus on sustaining our wider community of students, faculty, alumni and other stakeholders across York University, as well as external partners in business and the legal profession. In addition to overseeing student recruitment, and career services, and assisting with academic advising, the Assistant Director fosters long-term relationships with JD/MBA current students and graduates, managing a growing alumni engagement program that includes networking events, mentorship and other activities.
Working closely with students at every stage of their Hennick JD/MBA journey, the Assistant Director coordinates admissions between Osgoode and Schulich, guides applicants seeking entrance scholarships, manages the Hennick summer internship program and provides one-on-one career counselling to students – backed by the career development services and resources of the two schools. The Assistant Director monitors the evolving requirements of professional licensing bodies and the program’s diverse business partners, working with the Program Director to ensure students graduate with the right qualifications for their planned career paths.
