Communications and Social Media Relations Associate, The Salvation Army in Canada
Communication Studies, Bachelor of Arts (BA) - Honours 2014
In 2014, I graduated from York University with a Bachelors Degree in Communication Studies. Since then, I have worked for many different companies and organizations in marketing and communication roles with a focus on social media and corporate communications. Most recently, I graduated from George Brown College with a certificate in Social Media Marketing and am currently pursuing additional communications certification. One of the most important courses I took during my time at York University was the co-op course I had with you in my final year. It not only taught practical work skills, but it allowed me to gain hands-on experience in a professional work environment. This class was highly interactive, providing many opportunities for peers to showcase their skills and learn from one another. After the course ended, my contract with one of my placements extended which helped me gain more experience before entering into the work field. I highly believe that my experience at my placements during this period provided me with an advantage when I graduated.
