A transdisciplinary partnership advancing Indigenous and Afro-descendant rights through community-led research.
This project is a transdisciplinary, community-driven research initiative dedicated to documenting, analyzing, and amplifying the emancipatory knowledge and autonomy strategies of Indigenous and Afro-descendant peoples in Central America. It centers on the legal and political approaches these communities employ to uphold self-governance and territorial rights. The research focuses on three case-study regions: southern Costa Rica (Brunca peoples), Panama (Guna peoples), and the San Andrés Archipelago (Raizal peoples of Colombia).
