Frederick Xu
JD Candidate
Frederick Xu is a 3L JD student at Osgoode Hall Law School and a student Research Fellow with IPOsgoode. Before law school, he earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto, where he studied Criminology and Ethics, Society and Law. Frederick's interest in intellectual property law stems from a strong background in music, which fostered a curiosity for the relationship between creativity, innovation and the legal safeguards that protect it. While he enjoys exploring all areas of IP, his primary academic interest lies in copyright law, particularly the evolving relationship between copyright and emerging artificial intelligence developments.
