About Me

Born in Toronto, I received my Honours BSc in Physics, with a minor in Mathematics, from McMaster University in 2015.

I then moved to Cambridge, USA, receiving my PhD in Applied Mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2020.

From there, I moved to Cambridge, UK where I was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (DAMTP) at the University of Cambridge, from 2020-2023.

In 2023, I moved back to Toronto where I have since been an Assistant Professor in Applied Mathematics at York University.

Research

My group's research is focused in the realm of fluid mechanics, where we have considered a variety of topics including:

  • Pilot-wave Hydrodynamics
  • Stratified Turbulence
  • Viscoelastic Flows

Wherever possible, our theoretical inquiries are guided by data obtained from laboratory experiments, observational measurements, and/or numerical simulation of governing equations. Given the proliferation of datasets now available, we also seek to leverage machine-learning techniques to distill massive datasets into reduced forms amenable to mathematical analysis.

Our group led the formation of the STRATA Research Group, whose objective is to generate and analyze direct numerical simulations of turbulent flows influenced by buoyancy, as commonly appear in a variety of geophysical, industrial and environmental scenarios.
