On-Campus, In-Person, Non-Instructional Events

Welcome back!

In collaboration with the Office of Temporary Use of University Space (TUUS), the Centre for Student Community & Leadership Development (SC&LD) is very pleased to announce and support the return of on-campus, in-person, non-instructional events organized or sponsored by recognized student organizations for the remainder of the Winter 2022 term. 

Community engagement is vital to advancing a sense of connection, cohesion, and collaboration and has been heavily impacted by COVID-19. As we announce a return to in-person activities, there are specific guidelines to ensure the health and safety of the York University community.

Each proposed event will be given very careful consideration (subject to the availability of space and university resources) and will require a rationale for why the event needs to occur in-person, an approved safety plan that aligns with university mandates and protocols as well as public health directives, as well as a contingency plan in case the delivery format needs to change, subject to evolving public health conditions. 

SCLD staff will support student organizations in the development of safety plans and contingency plans. Three documents are provided to assist in the planning, preparation, and application for approval of on-campus, non-instructional in-person events. These include:
