Nominations for honorific professorships are due March 6

The Senate Committee on Awards is now accepting nominations for University Professorships and Distinguished Research Professorships. Nominations may be made by all tenured faculty members, and the deadline is Friday, March 6.

Call for nominations: President’s University-Wide Teaching Awards

The President’s University-Wide Teaching Awards honour those who, through innovation and commitment, have significantly enhanced the quality of learning by York students. Four awards are offered each year. Online nominations are due Jan. 31, 2020.

Free event planner conference takes place Dec. 6, RSVP by Nov. 27

The Event Planners Network (EPN) was started earlier this year and includes event coordinators, meeting conveners, invitation creators and conference planners along with others who want to learn more about planning events. The first EPN Conference will take place on Friday, Dec. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Second Student Centre. RSVP by Nov. 27.

York University to recognize four leaders with honorary degrees during Fall Convocation

York University will award honorary degrees at Fall Convocation to: Steven Campbell, president of Lifford Wine & Spirits; Margot Franssen, founder, former president and partner of the Body Shop Canada; Dionne Brand, poet, novelist and essayist; and Trina McQueen, broadcast media trailblazer and York’s first Visiting Professor in Broadcast Management.
