Portia WhitePortia White

One of ten children born to a Baptist minister, Portia White began singing in her father's choir at the age of six. While in high school, she decided that she would become a concert singer. In 1944, Ms. White made her New York debut . During her career, she has worked in Canada, Central and South America and the U.S., to critical acclaim.
A Canadian newspaper once called Portia White"one of the greatest singers Canada has produced".
