New for 2025: Drop-in CV Workshops
Need help writing, refining, and/or formatting an effective CV? Attend one of the drop-in CV workshops hosted by PUMP! Get personal help in a small group setting by two of York’s graduate Psychology students offering tips and feedback so your CV is ready for grad school, job applications, or whatever your next steps may be! Workshops will be held on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of every month from 6-7 pm via Zoom.

Building a Curriculum Vitae (CV)
This workshop provides an overview of how to create an effective CV, including the key differences between a résumé and a CV, essential components to include, characteristics of a strong CV, and examples of common academic CV templates.

Statistical Coding in R: Introduction to the Basics

This workshop covers different types of summer research experiences for undergraduate students. Topics include the importance of volunteering, how to find research experiences, tips for applying to labs, and the basics of adding these experiences to your CV.

Getting Ready for Interviews
This workshop will go consist of interview tips and tricks to get you ready for applying to research positions and graduate school! This workshop also features an opportunity to practice and receive feedback from peers and graduate students in the Psychology Department at York University.

Workshop on Counselling Psychology
This workshop will discuss counselling psychology programs and how they compare to other psychology-related professions, application timelines, differences between master's and doctoral degrees in counselling, gaining research and volunteer experience, choosing the right program/reviewing training programs in Canada, contacting supervisors, job titles and career options in counselling. There will also be an opportunity to ask the speakers questions at the end.
