Research Study Recruitment in the Behavioural Alcohol and Cannabis (BAC) Lab
York University researchers are looking for adults to participate in a study on the relationship between traumatic experiences and use of both alcohol and cannabis.
The study is being by researchers in the Behavioural Alcohol and Cannabis (BAC) Lab at York University (ethics approval certificate #2025-243). Participants will be asked to complete a 2.5 hour study session that will take place at York University. Participants will complete a writing task where they will be asked to write about their most traumatic life event. Following this task, participants will be asked to view a series of alcohol and cannabis related imagery and to complete various surveys assessing craving and mood. Participants will then complete a brief interview of alcohol and cannabis use patterns, followed by a self-report survey.
Eligible individuals will receive $60 in cash for participating in the study.
You may be eligible to participate if you are 18 years old and older, you use cannabis and alcohol regularly, you have experienced a traumatic life event, and you are willing/able to travel to the York University campus to participate. Other eligibility criteria apply.
