Initiatives
Project ELEVATE is an initiative run by students for students who are interested in submitting their original essays to SOULS: an international undergraduate research conference in the humanities at Bishop’s University in Sherbrooke, Quebec. By participating in this conference, students will be able to expand upon their pre-existing undergraduate research while engaging in formative academic experiences outside of the classroom.
To help students through what can seem like a very daunting exercise of submitting an essay for acceptance into a conference, the Glendon Undergraduate English Students’ Society collaborates with other on-campus partners to provide support to students throughout the various steps of the submission process. Examples of support provided are essay writing workshops and peer-editing review sessions.
We welcome all those interested in participating in this collaborative experience with GUESS, however only papers from upper-year students who received an “A” grade will be considered.
Executive Members:
To be eligible for appointment to the executive team, students must be officially declared English majors at Glendon College.
Descriptions of the executive member positions can be found in our constitution GUESS.
Students interested in applying for executive positions are asked to submit a copy of their resume and cover letter, and may also be asked to attend an interview with the hiring committee.
Please be advised that all executive member positions are volunteer based, there is no financial remuneration for your services.
