Human Rights & Equity Studies 2017

As someone who started off in a different major and then switched into Human Rights and Equity Studies in my second year, I think that the biggest difference/benefit of being a student in HREQ was the size of the department itself. Being of a relatively small size, the classes also had a smaller number of students, which made it easier to ask questions about the material, as well as positively interact with professors and students in each class. Another amazing aspect of HREQ lies with the professors and learning facilitators. In this field of study, it’s difficult to find a professor or TA who isn’t obviously passionate about exploring and advancing the message of universal human rights. It really shines through in their teaching, as well as the way that they choose to engage with their students.
