Jay Naik is currently the Director of the Strategic Human Resources Branch with the Corporate Services Division of the Ministry of Transportation (MTO), Ontario Public Service, Government of Ontario.  In this role, Jay and his team work with MTO’s senior management to advise, plan, implement and support ministry workforce strategies while remaining responsive to changing business directions. This includes providing expert human resource analysis and advice, and developing high value, MTO-tailored programs. 

Jay has over 15 years of experience in strategic human resources management and labour relations in both line ministry and central agency environments. In his previous management roles, Jay has successfully led the design and implementation of several strategies and programs to increase organizational effectiveness such as the Treasury Board Secretariat’s Mental Health Strategy (TBS H.E.L.P.S – Heal, Educate, Lead, Practice and Sustain). His background includes delivering a full range of HR services to as well as direct senior executive support as Executive Assistant and Special HR Advisor to the OPS Chief Talent Officer. Jay is a trusted leader who has demonstrated a strong track record of translating strategic plans into business results and cultivating talent within the broader organization.  Jay believes in putting the “Human”back in Human Resources.
