Julia Brassolotto
Assistant Professor, University of Lethbridge
Philosophy 2009
Julia Brassolotto received her MA in Philosophy from York, then went on to study for a PhD in Health Policy and Equity, also at York, which she completed in 2014. Her focus in the MA program was on bioethics, though she took a range of courses in the program. She has recently accepted a tenure-track position as an assistant professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Lethbridge and has also received an Alberta Innovates Health Solutions New Investigator Award.
My philosophy degree certainly prepared me for the critical and analytical thinking required in my doctoral studies. Some of my favourite moments from that time include seminars with Dr. Alice Maclachlan and hearty bioethics debates in Dr. Duff Waring’s classrooms.
