Michael Obnowlenny is currently a Vice President, People & Culture at Wise Publishing, Inc. With over 25 years experience in management and senior HR roles, Michael is a people leader and a relationship builder, dealing with front-line operations and corporate HR and helping leaders become better version of themselves.

Michael has a history of influencing and guiding organization-wide transformation in retail, hospitality, consumer packaged goods, and digital services. Some of his previous employers include Baxter International, Cineplex, Lowe’s Companies, Inc. amongst others.

Michael graduated from York University’s Economics program in 1986.

The most important skill I learned was to be able to think through an issue or challenge with greater focus and broader perspective. Combined with a broad exposure to other courses in literature, science, accounting, geography, I was a more mature, well-rounded adult. I had clearer perspective and maturity. York helped open my mind, and build courage to take on a number of roles in many aspects of business, ultimately preparing me to be a much more qualified HR partner at a strategic level.
