York’s sprawling Keele Campus is home to more than 100 Sakura trees, a symbol of the long-standing relationship between Japan and Canada and the University’s many cultural and academic ties with Japanese institutions.
Eco-friendly paper packaging made of sprouts, sound-powered batteries to monitor air quality, autonomous robots to assist seniors and AI voice analysis to diagnose early Parkinson’s are just a few of the projects that will be showcased by more than a hundred students as they compete this Saturday at the York Region Science and Technology Fair (YRSTF) at York University. Students in grades 7- 12 from 29 schools across York region will show off 77 projects and compete for a spot at the Canada-wide competition held in Fredericton, NB in late spring of this year.
