Scanning Electron Microscopy service form

BEFORE SUBMITTING SERVICE REQUEST FORM*
- Data scope and specimen preparation discussed with microscopy@yorku.ca
- You have access to LSB 436 (Nick Plagakis/Mechanical; Kevin Freedman/Science)
- User has PI's approval to open the service request. Services are chargeable. All Facility consumables are chargeable. You must secure your PI's approval to cover the cost.
- User has a QReserve account on QReserve.com
- QReserve DISPLAY is edited to display First and Last Names
- Users are responsible for data curation. You need to bring a portable drive to transfer your data to your scheduled appointment.
QReserve booking platform
Online booking requires an active QReserve (https://get.qreserve.com ) account. Once you complete your training you will be granted a membership with” Advanced Light and Electron Microscopy @ York University” QReserve site. This will give you an access to the Facility equipment booking calendars. The minimum facility usage is 0.5 hr for SEM Tescan Vega. Tescan booking calendar has blockers to reflect the equipment and operator availability. If you cannot book a slot - this slot is not available, please select different date/time.
Specimen preparation checkmarks*
- Bring disposable gloves for specimen preparation
- Cut specimens to a mountable size as discussed prior coming to LSB 436
- Preserve surface of interest
- Stubs, bounding medium, holders, grids are available at the Facility for a charge
- User is responsible for their specimen curation
