Join the Lab

If you are interested in continuing graduate studies in Computational Epidemiology, please indicate this in the research statement of your application and highlight your intention to join the ABM-Lab. A minimum GPA of A in applied or computational mathematics is required to become a member of this lab.

Interested applicants should send their applications through standard admission process at York University (Graduate Studies).

Questions regarding your eligibility for PhD/MSc should be addressed to the graduate program.

The ABM-Lab recruits graduate students (MSc/PhD), and postdoctoral fellows with a broad interest in areas related to modelling infectious diseases and its application to public health policy and decision-making. For a postdoc position, a PhD degree in applied mathematical sciences or other fields related to health sciences with statistical background is required. Applicants should have a solid knowledge and practical experience with computational systems, and show fluency in a coding language (preferably Julia).

For graduate studies, particular emphasis will be on computational epidemiology, involving modelling, analysis, and large-scale simulations of biological systems. The program will provide a solid theoretical background in biological systems, and include curricula in computational mathematics, pathogen-host dynamics, inference and data analytics, stochastic modelling and simulations, network theory, agent-based modelling, and health economics. The program will provide an enriched environment for research and training with significant networking activities and collaboration across disciplines.
