UNESCO Chairs Special Live Session: UNITWIN/UNESCO Chairs promoting ESD to achieve the SDGs – International networking in higher education for sustainable futures

UNITWIN/UNESCO Chairs put international collaboration at the core of their activities. Although active in diverse fields of research, they all connect as a network through the SDGs and enhance the capacities of higher education with joint research, training, and knowledge mobilization. Focusing on the five priority action areas of the new ESD for 2030 roadmap, 13 UNESCO Chairs with global networks covering all UN regions will share their perspectives on crucial learnings in ESD, current key topics and future plans to promote ESD for the SDGs. Moderated brief inputs and reactions from different academic fields will showcase the potential of UNESCO Chairs towards advancing the SDGs and the implementation of the new ESD for 2030 roadmap. Interactive audience participation will spark further discussion to develop new ideas for UNESCO Chairs to cooperate in the global network and advance efforts towards sustainable futures.
