Research Interests

My Master's research project is focusing on the study of parasitic infections affecting bumblebees. In particular, I am interested in determining whether parasitic infection rates in wild bumblebee colonies differ between different regions, habitat types and bumblebee species in southeastern Ontario. Parasites may be among the factors contributing to the alarming declines that have been recently observed in a number of bumblebee species.
