Welcome

Dear Stong College Students,

Welcome to Stong College, your very own place at York University.

York University may seem large sometimes, but at Stong we can help you feel more connected with your colleagues, Peer Leaders, Fellows and alumni, and we will help you negotiate your way through the many facets of university life.

At Stong, you will find a wide array of extracurricular activities, student clubs , athletics  and engaging seminars and lectures. The Stong College Student Government (SCSG) represents you: its voice is your voice at Stong and the university. You may want to check out the exciting list of events they have lined up for the 2018-19 academic year.

Stong’s academic and co-curricular Student Success Programs support students through their transition into university life (Orientation and Peer Mentoring), course-specific endeavours (Course Representative Program, Peer-Assisted Study Sessions-PASS and Peer Tutoring), workshops and seminars (Engaged Community), leadership skills development (LEADwith purpose), health-based projects (Agents of Change), community engagement (Indigenous Circle, Alumni and Fellows, close collaboration with Stong College Student Government-SCSG and Faculty of Health academic unit-based student organizations- KAHSSO, NSAY, YUSNMP and 2NA, and multidisciplinary student clubs affiliated with Stong College), and transitioning out of university and pursuing successful careers (Career Exploration). Stong College is also proud to house the Samuel J. Zacks Gallery that mounts regular art shows and events. Go ahead and explore your college.

The Stong College building provides a place to drop in, relax, have a meal, study, and meet other students, faculty and staff. There is something for every taste. You can find part-time employment or volunteer. Ask any one of us.

Stong College and SCSG are here to help you have a dynamic and enriching experience at York, both academic and extracurricular. We encourage you to take advantage of these opportunities.

You are always welcome to drop by the Stong College Office in Room 314 Stong College.
