Formal lesson plans are to be completed and submitted to the Mentor Teacher a minimum of 24 hours in advance of teaching the lesson so that feedback about the lesson planned can be given.
Teacher Candidates are responsible for gathering their own materials, resources and equipment, in consultation with the Mentor Teacher. Arrangements for special materials and resources must be made a minimum of 24 hours in advance of the day’s teaching. Teacher Candidates are reminded that they should not assume that items will always be available.
Teacher Candidates are expected to print or photocopy their own lesson required documents and not rely on the school equipment to do so.
Teacher Candidates are encouraged to ask many questions and explore the resources that Mentor Teachers can provide.
Should a Teacher Candidate not be adequately prepared to carry out their teaching duties, they should not be permitted to perform these duties. In the event that a Teacher Candidate is not eligible to teach, it is requested that the Practicum Facilitator be notified.
Teacher Candidates are encouraged to take opportunities to view other classrooms as opportunities arise.
