- Complete and share with Mentor Teacher self-assessments/reflections at the end of each week
- Develop a professional and collegial relationship with the Mentor Teacher as a professional partner
- Establish a clear communication plan with the Mentor Teacher
- Participate in a range of teaching and administrative tasks that are directed by the Mentor Teacher
- Prepare a day plan/summary for each day of the practicum
- Shadow the Mentor Teacher during school duties and meetings
- Share lesson plans with Mentor Teacher in advance of teaching time in order to be able to revise effectively to meet student needs and interests
- Show initiative and participating in daily activities, such as taking attendance, amplification troubleshooting, and arrival and dismissal routines
If any of these responsibilities are not met, the Mentor Teacher is encouraged to contact the Practicum Facilitator as soon as possible.
