ACE TENNIS Partnership

The GAC is pleased to announce that we will be partnering with ACE Tennis this summer to provide tennis programming (camps, clinics, etc.) at Glendon open to GAC members and Community members.

About ACE TENNIS

ACE Tennis has been recognized as a leader in player development for over 40 years. We are committed to the development of excellence in youth through the sport of tennis and offer leading edge tennis programs, camps, and competitive training in a supportive and educational environment. We currently operate year-round out of Cedar Springs Club in Burlington, at Toronto Tennis City in Toronto, and in 6 seasonal club locations in the GTA.

Simon is completing his Club Pro 2 certification and has a BA in Creative Writing from Concordia University.

Simon is the Head Coach at the Glendon Athletic Club for ACE Tennis.

He coached at Mayfair Lakeshore and Thorncliffe Park Tennis Club before joining Toronto Tennis City with ACE. He has also coached at Moore Park Tennis Club, Bennington Heights Tennis Club, Lawrence Park Tennis Club, Davisville Tennis Club, The Supreme Court, and was the Head Pro at Mimico Tennis Club. 

Simon trained as a competitive junior in Ottawa with top-ranked national players and competed in many tournaments in the province and region.

Over 20 years experience working as a tennis coach with children, youth, and adults. Knowledgeable of different coaching methods with any levels and ages.

More than 10 years experience working as a TV commentator on Ukrainian sports TV channels and participated in coverage of international tournaments (ATP, WTA, ITF tours David Cup and Fed Cup matches) and GRAND SLAMS TOUR!

And now I am doing the same for my students . It doesn’t matter if you become a champion or not but what is most important that tennis will always be in your life and your heart . Looking to play some pickleball? Want to meet other players?

Join us Thursdays at 11:00 am - 2:00 pm in the gymnasium! Only half the gymnasium (2 pickleball courts during the clinic) will be available for drop in play.

Full courts available for social play on Monday (5 - 6:30 PM) and Saturday (2 - 4 PM)

We ask that those attending are already familiar with the game, how to play and how to keep score.

Pickleball Progressive Beginner Clinics

We're offering two fun, 6-week clinics for people at the intorductory and beginner level. If you have pickleball played before, but have never received instruction and would like technical information and instructor feedback this program might be great for you too!

Both clinics will be taught by Sara, a professional pickleball player and certified coach

Coach Sara McInnes

The booming pickleball industry has been Sara’s focus for the last four years and in late 2019 she became an accredited coach through the Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR). Currently, Sara has over 370 hours of on-court coaching experience.

In 2017, Sara entered the Ontario Provincial Championships and earned a 3.5 mixed bronze medal. After 5 years and over 20 tournaments, she has achieved multiple medals in the singles, mixed and women’s doubles categories.
