This course explores the idea of democracy in terms of its institutions, assumptions, and values. We consider ancient Greek and liberal ideas of democracy and attempt to answer the fundamental question of whether we ask too much or too little of democracy.

Certificat d’études sur les réfugiés et la migration
La situation globale des réfugiés est devenue une question d'importance mondiale. Les migrations forcées affectent un grand nombre de personnes qui se retrouvent victimes d'exclusion — et qui se voient souvent refuser un lieu d'asile.
Ce programme de certificat étudie les causes de la migration forcée, les questions éthiques et juridiques en jeu, l'incidence sur les individus et les communautés de réfugiés et les implications pour la société au sens large.
