Financial Assistance

Master’s in HRMPhD in HRM
As the MHRM is an executive program, there is no dedicated program of financial assistance available. Often, employers will sponsor and pay the program expenses. There is a limited possibility for a few students to work on faculty research projects which are often funded through research grants.Funding to help meet the financial needs of PhD students is comprised of one or more of the following internal and external funding sources: fellowships, teaching assistantships, graduate assistantships, scholarships and awards, and research assistantships.

Healthcare

For students with no Employment component in their funding package, Heathcare coverage will be provided via YUGSA. There is a charge associated with this coverage - Healthcare bursary of $1,000/academic year is provided

For students with Employment component in their funding package, Healthcare Benefit Coverage included through CUPE 3903 - there is no charge to students

*Employment component of funding is based on CUPE 3903 Unit 1 Collective Agreement:

  • Salary–CUPE 3903 Unit 1 TA position—salary will vary based on assignment type
  • Vacation Pay–Statutory vacation rate applies
  • Grant-in-Aid–CUPE 3903 Unit 1 TA position–Grant-in-Aid funding will vary based on assignment type
  • Graduate Funding Assistance
  • International Tuition Offset (International Students only)
  • UHIP Bursary (International Students only)

Note: Scholarships and York University Fellowship - The university contribution portion of awarded Scholarships will count towards the Fellowship - exception applies when awarded as an 'Entrance' scholarship, in the first three terms of study.
