The Canadian Association for Theatre Research/Association canadienne de la recherche théâtrale (CATR/ACRT) has announced York University Professor Cynthia Zimmerman as the recipient of its Lifetime Achievement Award for 2022.

Anita Majumdar
Anita is an award-winning actress raised in Port Moody, British Columbia with a degree in Theatre, English, and South Asian Languages from the University of British Columbia. She was the 2017 recipient of Dora Mavor Moore Awards for Outstanding New Play and Outstanding Performance for her play Boys with Cars (Nightswimming /Young People’s Theatre) and also completed her Master of Arts in Theatre and Performance Studies at York University that same year.
Carly Maga
Carly is currently a freelance arts journalist, theatre critic, theatre administrator, and student. She received a Bachelor of Journalism from Ryerson University in 2010, and has since written for The Toronto Star, Torontoist, The Globe and Mail, The National Post, The Guardian, and more. Her studies at York University look at the mainstreaming of performance art in Toronto, contemporary theatre criticism, and Canadian arts funding models.
