Melissa Rourke

I am a PhD candidate in the Clinical Developmental Psychology Program. I previously completed an Honours BA in Exceptionality and Human Learning at the University of Toronto Mississauga campus, as well as an MA in Clinical Developmental Psychology here at York University.

My Master’s thesis focused on investigating how children with developmental disabilities, with or without autism, use Augmentative and Alternative Communication systems to communicate with those around them. I am also currently involved in research investigating Social Cognition and Theory of Mind in typically developing populations, as well as clinical populations including Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and autism.
