The Fall/Winter 2025-2026 Undergraduate application will open February 3, 2025.
Residence Guarantees
First Year Students
First year students are encouraged to live in traditional dorm-style residences with a roommate. This arrangement provides an excellent opportunity to meet other students, socialize and study together. Additionally, the convenience of a meal plan is included. Dorm residence is our most affordable option, and cleaning services are provided for common areas and washrooms.
Ontario High School Students
1) First year students coming directly out of an Ontario high school are guaranteed an offer in residence for the 2025-2026 academic year if they apply by June 2, 2025.
2) First year students coming directly out of an Ontario high school who apply by June 2, 2025 and have an average of 90% or above are guaranteed a single room if selected as preferred on their application.
Non-Ontario Students
3) First year students coming from outside Ontario (within Canada or internationally) are guaranteed a space in residence for the 2025-2026 academic year if they apply by May 1, 2025.
International Students
4) International students applying from high school and starting at York University in Fall 2025 will receive a 4-year on-campus housing/residence guarantee if they have applied to residence by May 1, 2025 and accept their admission by the deadline.
To continue to be eligible for the 4-year guarantee in upper-years, students must:
- Continue to be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program at York University and take the required number of credits to be eligible for residence
- Complete a residence application each academic year by May 1 of the year the application opens.
- Accept their residence offer by the deadline indicated in the Offer Letter.
- Adhere to all mandatory policies, including but not limited to purchasing a meal plan (if applicable).
- Continuously stay in residence for the Fall and Winter semesters for all 4 years to remain eligible for the guarantee.
- Adhere to the terms of the Residence Occupancy Agreement and Student Code of Rights and Responsibilities during each academic year.
- Remain in good financial and behavioural standings with the University.
Residence Offer Acceptance and Confirmation
Students will receive information about the new roommate matching, room selection and housing acceptance process as it becomes available. New student residence offers will begin after respective deadlines. Any changes to the above dates will be communicated via email and our website.
Information regarding moving into residence will be available here and will be updated as it gets closer to move-in day. A move-in package email will be sent to residents who accepted a space prior to arrival.
Waitlisted Applicants
Housing Services will endeavour to update students on wait list status from time to time. However, it is the student’s responsibility to follow up regarding this by emailing residence@glendon.yorku.ca.
