Anthropology, Bachelor of Arts (BA) - Honours 2010

Arvin is an information and technology professional with a background in policy development, internal affairs, and economic research in the public service. He also has expertise in digital marketing, having worked across the automotive, home improvement, and consumer product sectors. Currently a Senior Advisor at Health Canada’s Digital Transformation Branch, Arvin has held roles at Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada. He holds a Master’s in Electronic Commerce from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Arts from York University. Arvin has volunteered with organizations such as the Canadian Red Cross, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto, and others focused on community support.

My double major in Anthropology and Humanities at York laid the foundation for how I approach people, policy, and communication. The program fostered critical thinking, cultural awareness, and an appreciation for diverse perspectives—skills essential in both public policy and digital marketing. York encouraged intellectual curiosity and social engagement, shaping how I connect with communities and understand complex issues. The interdisciplinary learning helped me build confidence and adaptability, key to my career success. My time at York continues to influence how I lead, collaborate, and contribute to meaningful public service.
