Benn Barrantes is a social service professional with expertise in applied behavior analysis, philosophy, and disability services. He holds a Social Service Worker Diploma (Sheridan College, 2008) and a BA in Philosophy (York University, 2013), and completed a Master of Arts in Philosophy at York University this year. He has also completed graduate-level coursework in Applied Behaviour Analysis, supporting his extensive hands-on experience in disability services. A Registered Social Service Worker (RSSW) in good standing with the OCSWSSW, Benn has worked across public and private sectors since 2008, supporting individuals with dual diagnoses, developmental disabilities, brain injuries, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

In 2020, he founded Barrantes & Associates Inc., a multidisciplinary service provider delivering client-centered care alongside regulated health professionals. He later established Barrantes Group Living Inc. and Barrantes Community Inc., expanding into residential and community-based services for individuals with complex needs. Under his leadership, these organizations achieved major milestones, including a Children’s Residential Licence and the operation of a specialized fourplex residence.

Benn also launched the Barrantes Networking App, a digital management platform integrating payroll, HR, and client documentation. Committed to education and ethics, he founded the Barrantes Prizes in Philosophy at York University, a $100,000 initiative celebrating student essays that explore philosophy’s social impact. Through his work, Benn continues to build systems that empower and inspire growth. He is also the founder of ONBARR, an annual conference that brings together professionals, thinkers, and community leaders to explore innovation, collaboration, and care across disciplines.
