The Second Annual Justice Roger T. Hughes Memorial Lecture in Intellectual Property Law

The Second Annual Justice Roger T. Hughes Memorial Lecture in Intellectual Property Law took place on 24 November 2025 at the Federal Court of Canada, Toronto.

Mr. Daniel Bereskin CM, KC, presented the lecture "Brand Bandits: The Threat to Honest Commerce from Abusers of the Trademark System.”

Speeches and toasts were given by Prof. Pina D'Agostino, who chaired the event, Dean Trevor Farrow, the Honourable Justice Angela Furlanetto, Honourable Paul Crampton, and Prof. David Vaver, CM, FRSC.

The Inaugural Justice Roger T. Hughes Memorial Lecture in Intellectual Property Law

On November 14th, 2024 the IP Innovation Clinic hosted the Inaugural Justice Roger T. Hughes Memorial Lecture in Intellectual Property Law. The event was held at the Federal Court of Canada in Toronto, Ontario.

The event was chaired by Prof. Pina D'Agostino and featured remarks from Dean Trevor Farrow, the Honourable Michael D. Manson and the Honourable Marshall Rothstein C.C., KC. Prof. David Vaver, CM, FRSC presented the inaugural lecture entitled: ""Justice Roger T. Hughes and His Contribution to Law: An Appreciation".
