Submit a Project for York University’s 2025–26 Capstone Teams

SmartTO is excited to partner with two of York University’s flagship Capstone programs for the 2025–2026 academic year providing the opportunity to industry (Startups + SME’s) and ecosystem partners to participate in:  

• the Lassonde Capstone and/or  

• the Cross-Campus Capstone Classroom (C4)  

We invite you to submit a project to be considered to work with a capstone team in the area of mobility and transportation. You can submit more than one project and participate in both options.

Program Options (Sept 2025 – Apr 2026):

1. Lassonde Engineering Capstone:  A team of 6 senior engineering students execute an innovative technical engineering project Learn More

2. Multidisciplinary Capstone C4: A team of 6-10 interdisciplinary students explore a challenge statement and offer a solution(s) aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Learn More

Participation Guidelines for Startups & SMEs

• Proposed projects should not be mission-critical and essential to your business
• Assign a contact to provide guidance and support throughout project as needed 
• Offer access to resources as applicable
• Optional financial contributions for materials are welcome
• For C4, a 2-hour weekly Friday meeting commitment is expected (15–20 hours total) 

SmartTO supports recruitment, proposal vetting, and onboarding. Once projects begin, York’s capstone departments administer delivery. SmartTO will remain available for support as needed. 

Projects are designed to complement, not disrupt, your business priorities. We look forward to receiving your project submissions.

Early submissions encouraged. Multiple projects welcome.
