Bisma is a doctoral student in Political Science at York University. Originally from South Asia (Pakistan), she holds an MPhil in International Relations and a Bachelor's degree in Defence and Diplomatic Studies. Her research lies at the intersection of gender and war, with a particular focus on how armed conflict influences women’s political participation in conflict-affected regions. Geographically, her work centres on South Asia and the Middle East.
