Elisha Lim's research examines the colonial histories of platforms, artificial intelligence and computational governance. Working across media studies, science and technology studies, business history and critical race theory, Dr. Lim investigates how contemporary digital infrastructures inherit older techniques for governing populations through classification, optimization, and corporate administration. Their work has appeared in leading journals in media studies and digital culture, and they currently serve as guest editor of two separate special issues on Colonial Studies of the Platform.
